Jerome King is principal-in-charge at OJK Architecture + Planning. The son of a lumber company family, Jerome began building at an early age. He received formal training in architecture at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, but considers his years as a design student in Scandanavia to be the most important influence of his passion for beauty and design
His commitment to architecture and design has led to the participation in many architectural exhibitions throughout the Bay Area. He has been active in the AIA for the past 35 years, serving as president of the Santa Clara Valley Chapter and board member of the California Council in 1991, and as chairperson for the AIACC California State Design Awards program in 1993. Jerome is proud of his firm's involvement in the design of several recent award winning affordable housing developments and continues to pursue green and sustainable design commissions as a priority of the firm
Andrew Whiting, RIBA
Andrew Whiting is a US licensed architect at OJK Architecture + Planning. He received his formal architectural training at the University of Central England, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture in 1997 and receiving his Post-Graduate Diploma in Architecture while studying in Paris in 1999. Andrew has worked for architectural firms in the UK, New York and San Francisco and brings his international experience to OJK Architecture + Planning.
Michael Schaefer, AIA, LEED AP
Michael obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Design from Stanford University in 1983 and his Master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design in 1996. He has served on the staff of the Harvard Planning Office and also worked for Arrowstreet Inc. in Somerville MA while attending the Harvard GSD.
Michael has served as project architect on a variety of different types of affordable housing developments. He has extensive field experience working in both capacity, as architect and agent for the contractor; bringing this wealth of construction experience to bare at OJK.
